BODYWORK

Cassie is a licensed massage therapist (MAT 12791). She’s trained in Swedish, Lomilomi, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Aston Bodywork, Shiatsu, Trager and Structural Integration. She has studied Barnes style myofascial release with Donna King from the Heartwood Institute and spent years as a physical therapy assistant learning traditional pt assessments and protocols as well as apprenticing with osteopaths to learn cranial techniques and osteopathic manual therapies.

Various manual therapy techniques may be used during any session at the Moving Company. Bodywork is often involved in injury rehab sessions and combined with exercises for maximum effect.

Assisted stretching, PNF, M.A.T. and A.R.T are common tools for both therapeutic and fitness sessions.

Often myofascial release is used to help clients attain better range of motion and alignment as well as to relieve tension or strain during a session.

These are not just relaxation massages. The structural techniques are employed to free the body's tissues from spasm and adhesions from postural and overuse patterns.

Soft tissue release techniques are taught during sessions including Melt method rolling, and tips/techniques for using various balls and tools for self release at home for both injury and sports maintenance.

The goals are hydrated tissue, better body alignment, greater freedom of movement, less pain and better performance.
